Best Concierge in the West - 2006
Anne Roberts, concierge at the Portola Hotel & Spa, recently received the very prestigious award of 'Best Concierge' in the west from the well-respected, Meetings West magazine. This top honor was announced in the January 2006 edition of the publication.

Best of the West 2004, 2005
Meetings Media, publisher of Meetings West Magazine, presented the Best of the West award for the 2nd consecutive year to Portola Hotel & Spa. Award recipients are chosen by readers of the publication and consider factors such as quality of meeting space, quality of guest rooms, efficiently and helpfulness of staff, quality of food service, availability of technical equipment and overall value and experience. Over 600 hotels & resorts were considered and only 50 were awarded this prestigious award. The Portola Hotel & Spa is proud that meetings planners have recognized the hard work it takes to successfully manage a variety of meetings and events.

2005 Business of the Year
The Portola Hotel & Spa was selected by the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to receive the sought-after “Business of the Year” award. This distinction is given to local businesses for continued dedication and support of the community. Judging categories included quality of product/service, short and long-term goals, employee satisfaction, guest satisfaction, community involvement and overall company mission. The Portola Hotel & Spa was chosen from a very competitive field of over 60 local businesses.

WRAP Award (1994 - 2005)
The Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) is an annual program, established in 1993 by the California Integrated Waste Management Board, that recognizes California businesses that have made outstanding efforts to reduce nonhazardous waste and send less garbage to our landfills. WRAP provides an opportunity for California Businesses to gain public recognition for their outstanding efforts to reduce waste.
