Portola Hotel & Spa has a history of supporting our environment and has participated in several programs dedicated to conserving environmental resources. Portola Hotel & Spa has achieved the U.S. Green Building Council’s silver LEED® certification and is the first "Green" hotel in Central California.
Our Monterey Bay green business has been awarded:
- The 2011 Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award (GEELA)
- California Integrated Waste Management Board’s WRAP (Waste Reduction Awards Program) Award 18 years in a row
- Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program’s green certification
- Old Monterey Business Association’s “Kermit” Green Business Award
