We are excited to share some of our insider venue tips, to help inspire and enhance, your next special occasion in beautiful, Downtown Monterey, California.

1.Memory Garden

Paige: This historic California landmark is located right outside our doors here at the Portola. The majestic garden and the beautiful surrounding adobe serve as a lovely venue for day or evening events.

Eddie: Take in the natural, historic scenery while hosting a corporate reception or dinner under twinkling lights, towering Magnolia trees and starry skies.

2.Custom House Plaza

Eddie: Book a private yoga class for your group or guests and enjoy views of the Monterey Bay and surrounding adobes lining this outdoor, brick lined plaza.

3. The Bocce Ball Courts at the Monterey State Historic Park

Paige: This Monterey-centric location is perfect for a cocktail hour or an afternoon of friendly competition or team-building.

4. The Private Dining Room at The Club Room

Paige: Often referred to by our regular guests as the “Captain’s Room”, this wine-themed, intimate venue is adaptable for a social or business setting.

5. The Club Room

Eddie: The main dining room area at The Club Room is a sophisticated, nautically themed room fitting for cocktail parties and private events. This venue also features an outdoor patio with cozy furniture and gas fire pit overlooking the Pacific House Adobe and Custom House Plaza.

6. Cottonwood Plaza

Paige: Give your meeting a refreshing break by taking advantage of the Portola’s Cottonwood Plaza, located just off of our 3rd floor meeting rooms. When the weather is nice, the outdoor patio area is an ideal place for a sunny lunch or cocktail reception.

Eddie: Perfect for a meeting or group up to 70, as well as an outdoor brunch or luncheon.

Eddie: Located off site, in walking distance along the Coastal Recreation Trail, The Beach House is located right on Monterey State Beach and is a fun venue for team building, product launches, receptions and celebrations. Set up a s’mores bar on the beach along with a bonfire, or head inside for dancing, pool, ping pong and more!
