Cheers to National IPA Day – August 1st
Beer lovers are drawn to IPA’s, short for Indian Pale Ale, for the bold, deep flavors of this hoppy brew and it is said that no other beer style has defined the American craft beer as assertively as the IPA. August 1st has been declared National IPA day, celebrating the history, art, science and glory of this deliciously unique brew.
A little history…the origin of the IPA’s, dates back to 17th century England and today is one of the most popular craft beers on the planet. Created to unite the voices of beer geeks who simply love their IPA’s, National IPA Day was created to honor this unique craft beer and to connect people worldwide, using social media as the common place to showcase their love using the #IPAday hashtag on Social Media.
Veteran beer enthusiasts, home brewers and rookies alike are invited to come down to Peter B’s Brewpub, Monterey’s first craft brewery located behind the Portola Hotel & Spa on August 1st. Raise a glass and honor this “hoppy-day” with a $4 pint (or two) of Peter B’s award-winning Legend of Laguna IPA! Plus who knows, Kevin Clark, Brewmaster at Peter B’s may even release a new, limited edition IPA…come on down and see what’s in store!
