Locally Inspired: Discover Jacks Monterey Guest Post by Jacks Monterey Executive Chef, Danny Abbruzzese

Inspired by fresh ingredients grown locally throughout Monterey County, we have been able to incorporate what we are calling California Cultural Cuisine into every dish here at Jacks Monterey. Featuring ethnic flavors with a California twist, our specialties for both lunch and dinner service include palate pleasing artisanal pizzas, sustainable seafood and a variety of unique appetizers, shared plates, entrees and of course desserts!

Our menu at Jacks Monterey highlights a sophisticated range of flavor profiles, each reflecting diverse cultures from around the globe. From the Jack-N-Cheese Bake made with locally sourced Schoch Farmstead aged Jack cheese and Persillade to one of my personal favorites, the Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich served on a brioche bun with Asian slow, pickled ginger and wasabi aioli, I have had the opportunity to let my passion for food and international flavors shine.

Many have asked me what my favorites are on our lunch and dinner menus at Jacks Monterey and I can honestly say it’s hard to choose– but if I had to pick…the Calamari Tempura, Grains and Greens salad and Veal Cheeks served over a celery puree with citrus slaw and natural jus are true standouts on the menus.
