Peter B's Brewpub, our very own onsite craft brewery has a new head brewer! Meet Natalie. She formerly assisted Justin Rivard with brewery operations contributing to several award-winning craft beers. She's passionate about brewing and is sure to make you laugh! Get to know her a bit better through this fun Q&A.
Natalie Mika, the new head brewer of Peter B's Brewpub
Question: What is your favorite food and craft beer pairing?
Natalie Mika: "Street tacos and Mexican lager"
Q: How would your best friend describe you?
NM: "My best friend would say that I'm always a good person to call in a crisis. If you need something, if you're in a crisis, if you're freaking out. I can and will help you!"
Q: Who has inspired you in your life and why?
NM: "My mom. She's amazing and so inspiring. She's just a cool lady. She's also Queen of Excel spreadsheets!"
Q: If you were an animated character, who would you be?
NM: "Crystal Gem from Steven Universe! I love that show. I'd want to save the earth from people who would do bad things to it."
Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you have and why?
NM: "My multi tool, that one's obvious. My kindle, to read all my books, and someone who's good at engineering, so we can get out of there."
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
NM: "Just keep learning. Doesn't matter what you learn. You haven't wasted a day if you learned something."
Q: What fictional family would you want to be a part of and why?
NM: "The Gilmore Girls. We're all weird and quirky."
Q: What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics?
"Curling! I think it's the most entertaining event to watch."
Q: Are you a traveler or a homebody?
"I'm both! I love traveling. My favorite country I've visited is probably New Zealand, and I would also love to visit Asia—I haven't been to any countries there. But I'm also a homebody. I love staying home, watching Letter Kenny, and drinking beer."
Q: What is one thing we don't know about you?
"When I grow up, I want to live in a cottage in the woods and become the witch of my dreams. Also my favorite phrase recently has been ‘Yee-haw!'"
