Popular 70's Style Cocktails You Can Make at Home
Inspired by the Portola Hotel's New Year's Eve Party, December 31, 2018
In keeping with the theme of our upcoming very groovy, New Year's Eve Party at the Portola Hotel & Spa, we have whipped up some tried and true cocktail recipes that have stood the test of time. AND if you're interested in keeping the party going and ringing in the New Year in Monterey, then dig out those go go boots, dust off your disco ball and enjoy live music from The Money Band, dancing, a buffet dinner, and an open bar as you boogie as you groove inside the hotel's grand ballroom this New Year's Eve. The party kicks off at 7:30pm on Monday, December 31, 2018, for 21+ and older and tickets are now available at https://www.portolahotel.com/dining. Overnight packages are also available.
Now who's ready for a cocktail?
Harvey Wallbanger
Ingredients
• 1 ½ ounces vodka
• 4 ounces orange juice
• ½ ounce Galliano
• 1 orange slice for garnish
Instructions
1. Fill highball glass with ice cubes
2. Mix vodka and orange juice and stir
3. Float Galliano on top
4. Garnish with orange slice
Tequila Sunrise
Ingredients
• 2 measures of tequila
• Orange Juice
• 2 Dashes Grenadine Syrup
Instructions
1. Pour tequila into ice-filled highball glass
2. Top with orange juice and stir
3. Add grenadine and let it sit at the bottom of the glass (do not stir)
4. Garnish with a cherry or orange
Cuba Libre
Ingredients
• 2 oz light rum
• Juice of half a lime
• Coca-Cola®
Instructions
1. Pour lime juice into ice cube-filled highball glass
2. Add rum and fill with Cola
3. Shake or stir
