Portola Hotel & Staff Highlights: Meet Amy, Eddie & Paige

There's no I in team and that old adage holds true at the Portola Hotel & Spa here in beautiful Monterey, California. Every so often, we like to take the opportunity to highlight some of the amazing members that make up the team at the Portola Hotel. Today, we would like to introduce our Central Coast Living Blog fans to Amy Gibson, CMP Director of Catering & Conference Services; Eddie Guice, Catering & Convention Service Manager; & Paige Ettin, Catering & Convention Service Manager.

Originally from Indiana, Amy moved to Monterey in 1984 where she began her career in hospitality, right here at the Portola Hotel & Spa when it was the Doubletree. Amy has steadily moved her way up having started in Jacks Restaurant & Lounge to a Reservations Assistant, Sales Manager, Director of Sales to her current position since 2002, as Director of Catering & Conference Services. In her free time, Amy loves walking her fur baby, Indy and heading out to sea via cruise ship with friends.

A Central Coast native, Eddie has over 20 years of hospitality experience with the past 15 years at the Portola Hotel & Spa.  Connecting with her clients to provide exceptional service for their meetings, events and weddings is what Eddie loves the most about her position at the hotel. When Eddie is not hard at work at the Portola, she enjoys cooking with her family and taking long walks along the beautiful Monterey Peninsula coastline.

California Native, by way of Petaluma, Paige moved to the Monterey Peninsula to attend California State University, Monterey Bay in 2009. After graduation, and falling in love with the area, Paige and her husband decided to make it their home and she joined the Portola Hotel & Spa team in 2015 as Food & Beverage Coordinator, moving to the Catering Department in 2017. Outside of the hotel, Paige dances with and works on the Board of Directors for SpectorDance in Marina, California. Paige also enjoys traveling, hiking and is a craft beer enthusiast (her local, favorite brewery is of course, Peter B's Brewpub).
