6 Events to Attend during Monterey Car Week 2025

Auto enthusiasts are likely to have already heard of the world-renowned Monterey Car Week, with major events dotting the Peninsula. During this famous week, thousands of cars will be out in Monterey so having a schedule planned out will help make your trip streamlined. This week's blog will showcase a few of the amazing events during Monterey Car Week 2025. 

Monterey Car Week Kick off August 8th 5-7pm

Right outside of the Portola Hotel & Spa, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will kick off Monterey Car Week with a classic car show along Alvarado Street. This event will include 30 classic cars and will give you the opportunity to meet the drivers of these gorgeous cars before they race in the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway the following week! Make sure to head over to Cibo Ristorant Italiano for the Classic Car Week Driver Reception from 5-7pm to get complimentary appetizers and hear some fabulous live music at Cibo Bar starting at 5:30pm. 

2025 Porsche Monterey Classic Event August 11th from 4-8pm

The Porsche Monterey Classic Event celebrates all things Porsche, bringing together different generations of Porsche models, both old and new, to celebrate the timeless legacy of the brand. While you admire the cars you can also enjoy some crafted refreshments and interactive experiences. This event is free to attend with no parking fee for general admission. So, if you are a Porsche lover this event is perfect for you!

RM Sotheby's Auction August 13th-16th 

The Portola Hotel & Spa is thrilled to welcome back RM Sotheby's Monterey Auction featuring hundreds of world-class collector cars in their three-day sale from August 13th through the 15th. This amazing event takes place in the Monterey Conference Center with captivating cars featured in the Portola Hotel & Spa lobby and surrounding areas. Since this premier auction happens right next door to our hotel, guests and auction participants have easy access to the event! While this event is exclusive, you can still catch a glimpse of the gorgeous cars parked in Custom House Plaza.

The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering August 15th 9am-4pm

The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering brings motorsport enthusiasts and collectors from around the world to view rare collections of automobiles and motorcycles at The Quail Lodge & Golf Club. With an expansive display of over 200 vehicles, featuring 11 different categories including exclusive 2025 categories such as the 60th Anniversary of Iso Grifo and 60th Anniversary of the Shelby Mustang GT350, along with other traditional categories. To attend this event, purchase a ticket in advance through their website.

Concours D'Lemons August 16th 8am-1:30pm

The Concours D'Lemons is a favorite event for locals because while the other events listed in this blog might showcase some of the best cars in the world, this event showcases the worst. In this fun event you will witness some of the best lemons while they compete for the "Worst of Show" trophy along with other categories such as Sickest Sickle, Driving on a Prayer and more. This event is free to attend and is sure to be a laugh with costumes, bribes and some of the worst cars in the automotive world!

Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance August 17th  

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance draws people from all over the globe to Pebble Beach for this prestigious car show. Many of the competing cars are valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and more recently into the millions of dollars. For this reason, along with its remarkable setting and amenities, the Pebble Beach Concours is considered the premier concours in the world. This event signals the end of Monterey Car Week with many luxury and supercar brands using this event to officially debut new models or showcase future concept cars making this a bucket list event for many.
